The 2nd Alde Valley Mutton Renaissance Supper with Peter Harrison

Alde Valley Alde Valley Alde Valley

Come along to the Alde Valley Mutton Renaissance Supper – 3 courses prepared and cooked by Peter Harrison, followed by a talk by Gerard King of Salter & King butchers in Aldeburgh.

The Mutton Renaissance Supper is part of the 2016 Alde Valley Mutton Renaissance programme, running from 20th February – 6th March. The idea behind the Alde Valley Mutton Renaissance is to promote awareness and use of mutton – one of the UK’s great unsung culinary ingredients, and takes inspiration from the Mutton Renaissance project and the wonderful book “Much Ado About Mutton” by Bob Kennard.

The Supper and other Renaissance events will be using White House Farm’s home brand Alde Valley Mutton for the menus. They only use 4-5 year old ewes and hang their meat for 10 days to 2 weeks for improved condition and flavour (and use a local supply chain for all processing)… it’s about keeping it well-sourced and local!

This year’s programme includes events at White House Farm in Great Glemham (including the Supper), as well as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, and Sweffling.

In association with Gerard King [ www.salter&king.co.uk ] and Aldeburgh Mutton Week, 20–27 February.
